My name is Tina Alizah Shahar, MS, CCC-SLP/OMT/CS.
I started TASL (TASSLE) because the area of Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMD) can impact your entire life and health. The importance of the airway muscles and the oral cavity muscle development on your health is unbelievable and very often overlooked. Problems with OMD often lead to crooked teeth, jaw dysfunction/ pain (TMJD), sleep disorders or sleep apnea, issues with digestion, and problems with the muscles of swallowing, speech, and voice. I've suffered from it personally. With the collaboration of wonderful colleagues, I was able to treat myself and saw amazing outcomes and results.
That's why I specialize as an Orofacial Myofunctional Speech Pathologist and trained in craniosacral and respiratory techniques. I am a firm believer that Form follows Function. I focus on treating the underlying condition, not the symptoms for long-term results.
I want to be your Orofacial Myofunctional Specialist to help bring balance and health to your life. I serve children/teens (ages 4-17) adults (18 & over), and neonates (0-3 months).
